This year marks fifty years since Josep Pla published Cartes d’Itàlia (Letters from Italy) for the Editorial Selecta (publishers) and its editor chose these words from Salvador Espriu as a publishing statement:”Uns ulls i una intel·ligència d’una lucidesa única han mirat i han comprès lentament, per espai de molts anys, el país de la nostra predilecció, el país més important del món. Pla i Itàlia: per a un complexíssim i dificilíssim tema, per a un tema tan gran, un escriptor digne d’ell“

In the exhibition which we present you can see some of the documents that ensued during the gestation, publication and presentation of Cartes d’Itàlia, 1955. The illustrations which Tano Pisano provides complement this new venture to revisit Pla’s work.
